We are a boutique firm providing bespoke service. After two decades in Big Law and well-known New York firms, Jennifer Silverman launched her eponymous firm in 2020. Today, our New York City-based firm has a combined 50+ years of experience in intellectual property and trademark law. Our team is thorough and tenacious, ensuring that client needs are met thoughtfully and addressed quickly.

Jennifer D. Silverman
Jennifer is a trusted counselor and advocate, focused on achieving her clients’ intellectual property-related business objectives. She negotiates and drafts complex intellectual property agreements, helps clients build their trademark portfolios, and enforces and defends clients’ trademark, copyright and other intellectual property rights.
Prior to launching her own venture in 2020, Jennifer was partner at a mid-sized law firm, where she co-founded and led the intellectual property department. She also was a partner at Pryor Cashman LLP and an associate at Reed Smith LLP. She frequently speaks and writes on a range of intellectual property, licensing and trademark enforcement issues, including those associated with AI and machine learning, for the Practicing Law Institute.
Jennifer holds one of the world’s leading credentials in privacy – the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) designation from the International Association for Privacy Professionals
(IAPP). She has been recognized by Super Lawyers (2020-2024) for Intellectual Property and has an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability. Jennifer is a current member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and has also been active participant in various IP law committees for the American Bar Association and the Licensing Executives Society USA & Canada.
Jennifer graduated from Touro College’s Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where she was Managing Editor and Associate Editor of the Touro Law Review. She received her B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University. She is admitted to practice in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Merry L. Biggerstaff
Merry is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with over 15 years of experience, providing strategic counsel to clients across a broad range of industries, including fashion, media, technology, consumer goods, software, entertainment, healthcare, aerospace and defense. Creative and solutions-oriented in her approach, she counsels clients on all facets of their IP, including the clearance, registration and enforcement of their brands globally.
Merry’s litigation experience is extensive, representing client in federal and state courts, as well as in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Before entering the legal profession, Merry had a successful career as Chief Creative Director in Silicon Valley, where she developed brand systems and online business strategies for Fortune 100 companies and helped launch over 40 startups, which adds a unique creative perspective to her legal practice.
Prior to joining the firm, Merry was a partner at a boutique IP law firm in New York City. She received her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, and her B.F.A. in Fine Arts from East Carolina University School of Art & Design. She has engaged in pro bono work throughout her career, including obtaining asylum for Sudanese refugees and contributions to the Family Violence Protection Fund. She was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2015 to 2018 –a designation of top-rated practicing attorneys selected through extensive evaluation.
